Wow, what a busy weekend this was. I'm glad it's over. The baby shower was Saturday and went off pretty much without a hitch. My sister's mother-in-law even attended. That was a good thing but the cousins tried to be on their best behavior but they just couldn't help themselves. They just couldn't stand it that I gave this baby shower. Oh well, maybe everyone can get along for the baby blessing in 2 weeks. We shall see.
On to other things, my computer just crashed Friday. It was old and I lost everything. I always made backup files of my pictures but I lost everything else. ADVISE: Always backup anything you care about. Don't forget and don't think it won't happen to you because it will. I learned my lesson. But I bought a fabulous new computer to replace my old one. It's fast, has lots of memory and lots of fun stuff to go with it. This will keep me busy for a while so knitting has been put on the back burning for a little while.
Oh, I almost forgot. The answer to my little trivia question. Drum Roll.............................................

Love is in the Air
Actually, it's everywhere! The air is filled with the love bug. I have no idea what their scientific name is but my mother called them love bugs so that is what we will call them.
On to other things, I received my order of yarn from Yarn Market. Now I can get back to knitting the poncho. Maybe this weekend I can get most of it finished. I have the weekend off but I have the baby shower to prepare for on Saturday. I'll just have to see how things go. In the mean time, I made some progress on my purse. I am definitely not a fast knitter. Oh how I wish I had more time.
TRIVIA TIME!
Can anyone guess who this is?
I will give you the weekend to try and guess.
HINT: I was watching TV the other night and saw her and thought she looked familiar. My husband said she should you went to high school with her. Oh My God! He was right! She has done very well for herself. You go girl! Ok. She is from Jackson, MS and the show is on a cable channel. Have fun guessing.

Sleepy?
Reagan was so cute today I had to take a picture. She slept like this all afternoon. She makes me laugh.
These are the first few rows of the purse. It should be pretty easy but because I can't leave well enough alone I am already altering the pattern. I am making it bigger and will probably add more colors before it is all over with.
If you are considering ordering yarn on the internet you should visit http://www.yarnmarket.com/. I ordered more yarn to finish my poncho last nite and found they have great prices and great service. I made a booboo on the shipping address and called to get it corrected. I didn't realize it but they had already corrected it and called my home to tell me they fixed it and the order was on its way at 9am. That's fabulous. (See I don't always complain)
Another great thing they do is have a great database of yarn. They don't have all brands but if you want to know yarn info or needs specs on yarn to convert it, it is a great tool. Visit http://www.yarndex.com/.
Happy Knitting
The Cat's Meow
The cats were tickled pink I was at home today. Since Friday the cats have followed me everywhere I go (room to room). Today Shelly made a bed out of blue Schaefer yarn and Reagan found the nearest pile of fabric to lay on while I knitted in the sewing room. They were great company. I listened to John Mayer, the cats snored and I actually knitted. It was nice doing somethingelse other than worrying about the hurricane. I made good progress on the poncho but I will have to finish it someother time. I have run out of yarn. Oh well it's a good excuse to start another project. This is the yarn selection for a purse I've been wanting to try.
I mentioned in my last post that my store is supporting the MS Animal Rescue League. MARL and CARA do an amazing job for rescuing and adopting animals, but have taken on the task of helping the victims of the hurricane and their pets. They are providing and caring for their animals. They need our help. If you want to know more or donate to the shelters visit http://www.msarl.org/ or http://www.carams.org/.

Normal???
That is the question of the day. "Will things EVER get back to normal(whatever that is)? I finally got the electricity restored after 5 days. Just to tell you how excited and relieved my subdivision was, we gave our power trucks a parade. No lie. Everyone came out of their homes to cheer them on as they left. You can betcha that my AC will be on 50 degrees tonight!!! Well, here are the pictures I took of my neck of the woods. They are not as dramatic as what you have seen on TV. But if you travel my town there are a trees in the middle of the roads, tangled up in power lines, and/or are in or own someone's roof everywhere you go. No one was ignored by this hurricane.
I hope to get back to normal blogging about knitting next week.
Until then......STAY TUNED.
P.S. Almost forgot to mention that my store is still trying to stay open to suck money out of anyone who will spend it. The only other store to open in the mall is a gift card store( that's right). Out of 25 stores in our outside mall 2 store are open. CRAZY. There is a joke here if you think about it, but I am just to tired to spell it out. Sigh.
